Veronica Schami Editorial Services was established in 1997 by Veronica Schami, winner of the 2001 New Female Entrepreneur Award of the West Island chapter of the Réseau des femmes d'affaires du Québec. In January 2006, as part of our commitment to making a positive impact on literacy in our community, we launched the Readers for Life project.
Based in Montreal, Veronica Schami Editorial Services consolidates the skills of a qualified team of English and French editors and translators, who have been carefully screened to ensure that their skills meet the highest standards.

Veronica Schami Editorial Services specializes in corporate and marketing communications, trade publications and books – in both English and French. After discussing and assessing your needs, we assign your project to the language specialist or specialists best suited to the job. Our services include copy editing, proofreading and translation; the projects we’ve worked on range from advertising to websites. Veronica Schami
Veronica established the company in 1997 and was recognized by the Réseau des femmes d’affaires du Québec for her entrepreneurship. Winner of the New Female Entrepreneur Award in 2001, Veronica has since built a team of associated professionals to provide copy editing, proofreading and translation services. Veronica is a meticulous proofreader with a proven track record for accuracy, clarity and speed. Over the course of her career, she has worked on more than 100 academic and trade books, as well as hundreds of magazine issues, including Air Canada’s enRoute magazine, VIA Rail’s VIA Magazine and ELLE Canada, among many other prestigious clients. As a long-time member of the Editors’ Association of Canada, she has held several positions on its branch executive and has attended many of its training workshops and seminars. Veronica holds a B.A. in Humanistic Studies from McGill University, and has worked in publishing and communications since 1987.
Veronica Schami Editorial Services works with a corps of established translators who are specialized in a variety of fields. We assign each project to the translator best suited to the subject matter and required style. Masters of tone and nuance, our translators have proven writing skills and an excellent knowledge of the source language, and are an integral part of our team.
Luiza Ciocsirescu
For the love of language
Born and raised in Bucharest, Romania, Luiza has had a real passion for languages from a very early age, turning language studying into a hobby. She graduated from Spiru Haret University in Bucharest in 2001 and holds a degree in both English and French Language and Literature. She has worked as a book translator for a publishing house in Bucharest and as a reviser for Romania’s Official Gazette. In August 2007, she embarked on an extraordinary adventure when she came to start a new life in Canada. She joined Veronica Schami Editorial Services in December 2007 and enjoys learning the tricks of the trade from a business perspective.
Jo Howard
From fun and fluff to the serious stuff
Jo has been an in-house editor at Veronica Schami Editorial Services since January 2003. A talent for understanding an author’s mindset has led her to tackle every subject from tourism and entertainment to mining and energy resources with consistently positive reviews. Whether for textbooks or magazine articles, media releases or Web content, repeat clients are always asking Jo to work her editing magic on their texts. Jo holds a B.A. with Distinction from Concordia University, and has worked in community services and communications since 1982.
